Actualmente cumple condena en una penitenciaria de Estados Unidos. Charles Manson nació en Kentucky en 1934, fue un niño no querido de una prostituta. Paso su juventud en hogares para niños; era un niño pequeño expuesto al alcohol, la prostitución, y abusos. A la edad de 18, robó dinero, y coche. Encerrado por violación homosexual. En 1954 salió y se caso, tuvo un hijo, pero pronto se divorcio. En 1960 fue acusado de robar coches. De vuelta en prisión se volvió un protegido de un ladrón de bancos y asesino, Alvin "Creepy" Karpis. Manson fue soltado en 1967 y se fue a San Francisco, donde lidero un culto de 20 vagabundos y criminales la mayoría mujeres. Este grupo, "La familia", pronto se estableció en un rancho en Simia Valley, donde tomaron drogas alucinógenas, compraron armas y se armaron por Helter Skelter, la guerra nuclear y carrera que Manson predijo. Para entonces la familia tenia 40 miembros. El marco a sus enemigos que sentía que habían arruinado su carrera de fama como músico y ordeno a la familia que los matara. En Julio del 69´, Manson, Bobby Beausoliel, Susan Atkins y Mary Brunner (la madre del segundo hijo de Manson) mataron a un productor de discos y le robaron su coche. Una semana después. Beausoliel, Brunner, y Sandra Good fueron arrestados. Esperando inducir el "Helter Skelter", Manson junto con Tex Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel, Susan Atkins y Linda Kasabian fueron a la casa del director fílmico Roman Polanski, donde mataron a la actriz Sharon Tate y a otros cuatro. La siguiente semana Manson y seis de sus seguidores, mataron a una pareja de edad media. En diciembre, Manson y 10 ocultistas fueron arrestados. A dos la evidencia no les demostró nada, pero a Manson y a otros ocho fueron arrestados por asesinato. Todos permanecen en cárcel. Manson también grabo algunas canciones y las edito discográficamente para poder costearse su defensa en el juicio. Una de ellas "Look at your game girl" (Canción que incluyo Guns n´Roses en su ultimo álbum.). La "familia" que creo Manson, mato a más de 100 personas, Manson solo acabo con la vida de 4. Actualmente Manson se encuentra cumpliendo condena en la prisión de San Quintin.

Although Charles Manson never fired a pistol, or physically murdered the victims, he had power over his followers, who did his bidding.

Born no name Maddox in 1934 to a prostitute mother, Manson was arrested many times for theft, stealing cars, and pimping. He spent half of his childhood in prison or juvenile halls.

In 1967, in the time of peace and love, Manson started getting followers who saw him as a father figure, as God, and every word that came from his mouth was the law. Manson became obsessed with death, Helter Skelter, and sex. Manson would initiate orgies with his "family", and everyone would comply.

On August 9, 1969, director Roman Polanski's home was broken into by Manson's followers, and a pregnant Sharon Tate, Abigail Folger, Jay Sebring, Voytek Frykowski, and Steven Parent were murdered brutally. Sharon Tate was found on the floor, a rope tied around her neck, connecting her to Jay Sebring, who was beaten so badly, it was hard to identify him. Steven Parent was found dead in his car, Frykowski and Folger were found outside on the lawn. The murderers had scrawled the words "PIG" and "HELTER SKELTER" on the door and walls.

The following evening, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca were murdered and mutilated. They were tied up, and Leno had a fork and knife stuck in his chest. There were also words scrawled on the walls of the LaBianca residence.

Susan Atkins was arrested for a different incident, and while in prison, boasted about the crimes, and about Charles Manson, and how she enjoyed killing Sharon Tate, and tasting her blood. Atkins knew so much about the crimes, her fellow inmate believed her, and called the homicide detectives to tell them the story.

Charles Manson, Susan Atkins, Charles "Tex" Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Leslie van Houten all went on trial for the murders. Vincent Bugliosi was the prosecutor, who presented a superb case, and all were found guilty of the murders. All were sentenced to death, but when California abolished the death penalty, all were sentenced to life in prison. Every year, these murderers come up for parole.

The Manson family is still around, probably somewhere in California, waiting for Charlie to be released and to lead them, and to finish the Helter Skelter that was started 30 years ago.
